The School Council is currently running three competitions: Design a Poppy, Write about Black History Month and Design a Scarecrow. There are prizes to be won and all entries must be in by the 17th of November.
Town Hall
On the 10th and 19th of October two members of the school council visited the Town Hall with Mrs Rawlinson. All of the councilors who went on the trip represented Sudley well.
Garston Project
The New Garston Medical Centre
Recently pupils from Sudley Junior School were invited to enter a competition. The winning entries were to be included in a book of memories to be buried in a timecapsule at the new medical centre.
The winners were lucky enough to visit the centre and see where the book is to be buried. The children were also interviewed by Radio Merseyside! Congratulations to the winners who all received a gift voucher as a prize.
Some of our Year 5 pupils were lucky enough to write a page about themselves that has also been included in the book. The children also visited the site and handled artefacts that were found in the foundation stone of the old Garston hospital, when it was demolished. These included old newspapers and coins. The pupils learned about the founder of the old hospital and why the new centre has a memorial garden. It was a fascinating visit.
It was a great opportunity for the children. I wonder who will read the book in years to come?
